A Fourth of July on the Water
Minocqua, Wisconsin
There are places you visit, and there are places that seem to have their own rhythm.
For me, Minocqua is one of those places.
On a summer morning, the lake can be remarkably quiet. Loons call across the water, an eagle passes overhead, and the shoreline seems almost untouched. A few hours later, that same lake can be alive with boats, jet skis, water-skiers and families enjoying everything that a Northwoods summer has to offer.
Over the Fourth of July, I had the opportunity to photograph both sides of Minocqua.
And sometimes, they existed only minutes apart.
